We started Outshore because Kiwi businesses deserve better than DIY offshore hiring.

The Origin

How Outshore started

Matthew ran a digital agency, Netbloom, in Otago. A small city where finding good talent locally meant paying out of pocket before the revenue was there to justify it. So he built an offshore team in the Philippines instead.

The results were immediate. Netbloom could deliver SEO and digital marketing at a level that wouldn't have been possible with local hires alone. But the DIY hiring route was brutal. Hundreds of applications, ghosted hires, inflated CVs. It cost him weeks before he built a recruitment process that actually worked.

Other Kiwi business owners saw what offshore talent was doing for Netbloom and started asking Matthew to find VAs for them too. That grew organically into Outshore. His sister Molly came on board as Team Success Manager and turned out to be brilliant at recruiting.

Today, we run that same process for NZ businesses across the country. We help founders get access to quality offshore talent so they can grow their business and free up the revenue to hire locally for the roles that need to be on the ground.

The Journey

A few milestones so far

2022

Outshore is born

After seeing how much offshore talent transformed Netbloom, other Kiwi business owners start asking Matthew to find VAs for them too. With a thorough recruitment process already in place, he makes it official.

2024

First clients land

Carter Consultants becomes the first client with a social media VA. It goes really well. Molly joins as Team Success Manager and takes over recruitment.

2025

Expanding roles

We start placing across SEO, Google Ads, Meta Ads, general admin and more. Businesses that couldn't find talent locally now have access to skilled VAs, and the revenue to start hiring locally for leadership roles too.

2026

Helping Kiwi businesses grow

Our clients are saving time and money, getting access to talent they simply can't find in their part of the country. For many, offshore hiring has been the thing that let them finally hire locally for client-facing roles. That's the goal.
