How Outshore started
Matthew ran a digital agency, Netbloom, in Otago. A small city where finding good talent locally meant paying out of pocket before the revenue was there to justify it. So he built an offshore team in the Philippines instead.
The results were immediate. Netbloom could deliver SEO and digital marketing at a level that wouldn't have been possible with local hires alone. But the DIY hiring route was brutal. Hundreds of applications, ghosted hires, inflated CVs. It cost him weeks before he built a recruitment process that actually worked.
Other Kiwi business owners saw what offshore talent was doing for Netbloom and started asking Matthew to find VAs for them too. That grew organically into Outshore. His sister Molly came on board as Team Success Manager and turned out to be brilliant at recruiting.
Today, we run that same process for NZ businesses across the country. We help founders get access to quality offshore talent so they can grow their business and free up the revenue to hire locally for the roles that need to be on the ground.
